How to fight climate change, 3 easy actions to do daily
We need to take action right now for the global warning. As you may know, 2019 was the warmest year on record. CO2 levels and greenhouse gases rose a new record in the atmosphere. We can’t go back in time, but we can all work together or independently on a daily base.
Here’s 3 easy actions you can do.
Reduce
Reduce waste. Buy smaller groceries. Manage your portions better. Avoid food waste. Did you know that landfill is one of the biggest polluters on the planet? The methane emissions caused by our food waste have a very negative impact on our planet and create a lot of greenhouse gases. If you have the chance, make your own compost at home.
Stop buying things you don’t need. Before you buy a new gadget, ask yourself this question: Do I really need it? There are millions, if not billions of useless objects buried in the ground right now that will take thousands of years to destroy. Be eco-conscious as much as possible.
Recycle
Try and recycle as much as you can. Everyone of us should take time to read the recycling caption on packaging. The recycling rules may change from a region to an other, but most of the time, you can recycle every plastic container, except for the ones with a number 6 underneath. By recycling, you help creating a circular economy.
Reuse
Stop throwing everything that you no more need. Start reuse, resell or give to charity. Sustainability is one of the key for a greener, greater future.
“There is no time to lose and no excuses to be made,” warns UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
You can also go further and take bigger actions. By contacting your municipality or your regional politician, you can tell them about solutions that can be undertaken. You can also start a petition to value your point.
Here’s some solutions your government has the power to do:
- Divert waste from landfill
As told earlier, methane emanation caused by landfill of waste is a major cause to earth crisis. Many ingenious solutions exists. Per example at Waste Robotics, we promote a co-collection organic bag program. With a divert efficiency of +90%, our technology proved over the years it’s potency.
- Electric car incentive
In Canada and a few other countries, the government help the population to buy electric car by giving a cash back to buyers. This incentive not only help save money to consumers, but also help reduce massive tons of GHG.
Facts are there. They can’t be denied. Take action now. Reduce your waste. Consume less. Buy an electric car. Become vegan. Every action count.
